TRAIN

Building muscle while moving to the beat of the music – no cardio here, just gains.

Where are you located?

We are located at 166 Meadowood Drive, directly behind St. Vital Mall. We are in Unit 44 which is located on the lower level. You’ll find us through the main door at 166, and down the stairs (or elevator)!

Where do I park?

166 Meadowood has a large parking lot, however, in the case of overflow, you may choose to park right across the street in the mall parking lot (it’s super close) and use the convenient crosswalk to get to us!

What can I expect at a CYCLE class?

At The Basement Cycle classes we ride to the beat of the music! Get ready for a high-energy group fitness experience with great tunes and unmatched vibes. We will lead you through a 45-minute workout with a range of speed and resistance to give you both cardiovascular and strength benefits. Choreography? We love her! But not to worry, she’s optional. Beginners to advanced riders will all find their challenge here, and will be given options and opportunities to reach that next level in their journey.

Every instructor brings something unique to the table, we can’t wait for you to find your favourites!

We want you to have the BEST experience possible! New users must arrive 15 min before class starts so that we can get them prepared for class appropriately!

What can I expect at a TRAIN class?

At The Basement Train classes we focus on building muscle while moving to the beat of the music. Using dumbbells, resistance bands, and body weight, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute strength-based workout with a focus on slower, more controlled movements. No HIIT or circuits here. You always have the option to move at their own pace (dancing in between sets is never mandatory, but always encouraged).

How do I book a class?

You can book in on our website or by downloading our app. You must first create an account in order to book, and you must sign a waiver before attending a class.

Can I bring my children to a class? What is the age requirement?

Clients must be 14 years of age or older to participate in classes and must be 18 years or older to create a user account. Registration of a Minor between the ages of 14-17 must be completed in person at our studio with a parent or guardian present. A waiver must be signed on behalf of any minor by a legal guardian prior to participation.

You cannot leave your children in the lobby while you take a class, please ensure you have childcare set up before booking!

Are there any height or weight restrictions for the bikes?

In order to safely use the bikes according to the Stages operating guidelines, attendees for CYCLE must be at least 100 lbs and 4 feet and 11 inches tall in height, with a maximum weight of 300 lbs

What should I wear?

For CYCLE and TRAIN, many prefer breathable athletic clothing such as leggings and sports bras or lightweight running shorts and tank tops. You’ll be sweating a lot, especially in CYCLE, so plan appropriately!

What do I need to bring to class?

We’ve got you covered with cycling shoes, in-class towels (plus shower towels if you’d like to freshen up after), a water refill station, and even earplugs if you’d like them.

All you need to bring is:

  • A water bottle
  • Socks (to wear in your cycling shoes, or on your mat in TRAIN)

For TRAIN classes: shoes are optional! You may prefer to work out in your socks, or wear clean indoor running shoes if you prefer.

What is your cancellation/no-show policy?

You must cancel at least 10 hours before class to avoid a penalty.

  • Membership holders who cancel late will be subject to a $15 fee.
  • Class pack holders who cancel late will lose one class credit.

No-shows (not attending without cancelling) result in:

  • $20 fee for members
  •  The loss of one class credit for class pack holders.

Unlimited members receive two waived late-cancel fees per month.

How does the waitlist work?

Adding yourself to the waitlist ensures a place in line so that when others cancel, those next on the waitlist are moved onto their bike or mat. Waitlists move quickly, so even if there are many ahead of you, you still have a great chance of getting in! Make sure to check your app and emails for notifications to see if you get in!

Keep in mind that once you’re moved off the waitlist into a spot in class, you’re committed to that class just as if you had booked it yourself – if you are within the 10 hour window and decide to not attend, you are subject to late cancellation and no-show penalties. For example, if you are not prepared to attend the 6am class you are on the waitlist for, we recommend that you remove yourself from the waitlist before bed!

What if I am running late for class?

In order to avoid significant class disruption, you will not be allowed to enter class later than 5 min after the class start time.

If you are not checked in 5 min before class starts, your spot may be given away to another client. If you are running late, please call the studio to let us know!
